Improv Workshop: The World is Your Stage
Join us for an improv acting workshop led by theatre maker and role model Jeroen Tessers.

Step into the world of improvisation in this playful, interactive workshop that invites you to say yes to the present moment. In a society that often rewards planning and control, Jeroen offers a radically different invitation: respond honestly, trust your instincts, and discover what happens when you let go of the need to be perfect.
This workshop isn’t about performance, it’s about presence. With simple yet powerful exercises, you’ll explore how to connect to yourself and others through spontaneous, truthful interaction.
What to expect:
Body and awareness warm-ups to ground yourself in the moment
Playful improv exercises that build trust and courage
Tools to respond with honesty and curiosity, not fear or perfection
Space to connect, experiment, and reflect
No acting experience required, just an open mind and a willingness to explore

Community Potluck Dinner
After the workshop we eat together. This dinner is a potluck: everyone brings a dish to share. Bring something healthy and tasty for a few people, and we’ll put everything on one table. Please let us know what you’re bringing when you sign up, and mention allergies or dietary needs so we can label the dishes.

In a world that often demands control, perfection, and predictability, The Yes, And,… Night invites you to do something radical: to say yes to the unknown, to the uncomfortable, to the truth of who you are, and to the possibilities that emerge when we meet life as it unfolds.
As always, this edition of the L’Okapi Open Stage is an evening of radical presence, vulnerability, and shared humanity. Through personal stories, spoken word, music, improvisation, and performance, we explore themes of resilience, mental health, identity, connection, and growth. These are not fictional characters. These are real people, bringing their lived experiences to the stage.
The evening builds on insights and moments from the improv workshop. You’ll witness stories and performances created in and inspired by the workshop, from spontaneous scenes to deeply personal testimonies. By sharing our stories, we begin to shape new futures, not just for ourselves, but for our communities. Futures rooted in empathy, honesty, and imagination.
