Movement & Empowerment
Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating Iranian culture with L’Okapi role models award-winning choreographer Roshanak Morrowatian and composers Nader Adabnejad and Sheida Najafi as we explore the rich cultural roots that shape their artistic practice.
The night begins with a presentation by Iranian Composer & Event Producer Sheida Najafi, offering insights into the history and symbolism of the persian House of Strength tradition. This will be followed by an intimate Q&A with Roshanak, inviting reflection on the power of reimagining and revitalizing ancient rituals.
We’ll close the evening with musical contributions of Pakan Sabbaghi (Guitar), Arash Mahdavian (Tar) and a short concert of composer Nader Adabnejad, featuring Pouya Dehlari on Viola & Violin, Athena Taghavi on Vocals and Daniel Khan Fini on Guitar & Bass accompanied by the animations of Baran Sedighian. They will celebrate their Persian heritage through music and storytelling. Think traditional Iranian songs with gently melancholic lyrics and a nostalgic warmth.
Connect, reflect, and celebrate this powerful fusion of tradition and contemporary expression. All welcome, as you are.
